The ADM Tigers men’s cross country team delivered an impressive performance at the state qualifiers on a Wednesday afternoon. The team placed 3rd overall for Class 3A, securing 76 points in the competition. This achievement was a display to their hard work and the confidence of their coach, Josh Chapman.
Coach Chapman had expressed his confidence in his athletes before the meet. He noted that the team’s runners excel in cold weather conditions, and with the temperature at 61 degrees, their performance lived up to his expectations. “My guys actually run better when it’s cold, so they’re looking forward to the cool temperatures,” he remarked. This insight into the team’s preference for cooler weather seemed to pay off.
Coach Chapman’s optimism was evident as he explained, “I always tell the guys we could in any given day we’re a top five team. we are not very far back from our pack having a really good day and knocking off the team or two ahead of us. “This statement reflects the coach’s faith in the potential of his team, emphasizing that they have the ability to compete at a high level in the state.
ADM’s cross country team’s performance at the state qualifiers not only secured them a strong position but also showcased the belief that coach Chapman had in them. With a coach who believes in their capabilities and a team that strives for consistency and teamwork, ADM was able secure 3rd overall as a team.
