Payton Macke, Lake City, was traveling east on Hwy 141 at D Ave when a vehicle driven by Frank Tomenga, Rippey, went through the intersection in front of Macke, causing a collision. Mr. Tomenga was taken to Dallas County Hospital by EMS.  Ms. Macke was pulling a trailer with livestock in it at the time.  Damage to Ms. Macke’s vehicle and livestock was an estimated $75000.  Damage to Mr. Tomenga’s vehicle was estimated at $30000.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Oct. 17

Halle Karaidos, Van Meter,  was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Hwy 169 and 360th St. when a vehicle traveling north on Hwy 169 swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle and went into the ditch.  The vehicle, driven by German Cruz, West Des Moines, then came back onto the roadway of 360th Street and hit Ms. Karaidos’ vehicle.  No injuries were reported and damage to Ms. Karaidos’ vehicle was estimated at $500.  Damage to Mr. Cruz’ vehicle was estimated at $5000.  Mr. Cruz was cited for No Valid Driver’s License.

Alexx Nedved, Woodward, was driving on Hwy 141 at the 127 mile marker when the vehicle in front of him stopped abruptly.  He stopped to avoid a collision, but was struck by a semi driven by Rodney Scheuermann, Scranton.  No injuries were reported .  Damage to Mr. Nedved’s was estimated at $5000.  Damage to the semi was estimated at $1500.  Both vehicles were able to drive from the scene.
