Both the Perry boys and girls cross country teams raced in the 3A state qualifying meet at Pella Sports Park last night. It was a solid outing for both the boys and girls. Yonas Andemichael finished in 12th overall for Perry with an impressive time of 16:48:87. Yonas officially qualifies for state with that performance. Maeble Tekle and Thad Stewart were the next two guys in line for the Bluejays as they came across the finish line in times of 19:10 and 19:14 perspectively.

On the girls side of things, Lilly Myers led the way for the Jayettes. She finished the race in a time of 21:16 which placed her in 20th place overall. She unfortunately missed the cut on the state meet but still had a solid outing last night. Taryn Nehring finished with a time of 23:30 while Cate Erickson finished with a time of 24:12 as well.
