2023 Greene Co Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
Time is running out for nominations for the upcoming Greene County Athletic Hall of Fame.
Activities Director Dave Wright says eligible individual nominees must be a state champion or been designated as first team all-state. As for a team to be considered as an inductee, they must be a state champion. Wright points out this will be the fourth class inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame as he talks about his favorite part when it comes to the induction ceremony.
“It’s been very positively received. Those nights have been exciting for me being a graduate of here and kind of being familiar with pretty much most of everybody that’s been inducted so far. It’s just kind of a good night to celebrate their accomplishments.”
Last year’s induction class included Raccoon Valley Radio’s Doug Rieder as a broadcaster from 1979 to the present, Bryce Paup from the Class of 1986 for football, Mark Lane for baseball from the Class of 1991, Allison Drewry from the Class of 1994 for track and field, and Kelley Lane for baseball from the Class of 1998.
Nominations are due at the end of October to the Activities Office at the high school in Jefferson. Click the link below for a copy of the nomination form.
