An administrator with Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School District was recently recognized by a state organization.

Guthrie Center Elementary Principal Diane Flanery was named Iowa Talented and Gifted AssociationAdministrator of the Year. She was born in Bagley and after graduating from Iowa State University began teaching in the Nevada Community School District. She returned to the Guthrie Center School District in 1996, and was a teacher for nearly 20 years, before earning her administrator license, and becoming the principal. She has served 37 years in education, and plans to retire at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
