The ADM Tigers are set to face the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs, a team they’ve never encountered before. With little prior information about their opponent as these two teams have zero playing history, there’s an unspoken uncertainty about how the game might unfold. The only insight the Tigers have about the Monarchs’ style of play comes from the videos they’ve reviewed.
Despite the lack of familiarity, the Tigers have maintained their usual preparation routine. Head Coach Randy Schrader acknowledged the challenge, noting, “We have no common really any common opponents with them, so you really can’t take a look at that.” He mentioned that the only common opponent they’ve had over the years is Harlan, who the Monarchs played earlier in the season. However, they have focused on getting their players healthy and preparing for this new season in the playoffs.
Instilling confidence in their athletes is a key aspect of their preparation. The team has been working on responding to the ball faster and setting the tone on both offense and defense to put points on the board. Coach Schrader mentioned his preference for taking the football if they win the toss, expressing his confidence in the team’s offense and its ability to make an impact. However, he also recognized the need for improvements, saying, “We got to get off the football and block people out, and get busy, and we have to change this week.”
As they approach their game against the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs, the ADM Tigers are focused on adapting to the new challenge and putting their best foot forward on the field. Tonight the ADM Tigers will play Denison-Schleswig Monarchs in Denison. To listen to the game you can tune into KKRF/K107.9 or go to Raccoonvalleyradio.com to stream online.
