The state championship cross country meets will officially kick off today at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. Taitlin Koch will be representing the Wildcats in the state championship meet in the Class 1A girls race that will begin at 2 PM. Koch qualified for state after she finished in 9th overall place in the state qualifying meet a week ago at Pella Sports Park. Koch put up a 5k time of 20:07:61. That was her best time of the season dating back to her previous three times the last three weeks. Taitlin ran a 20:54:10 at the Nodaway Valley Invitational back at the beginning of the month on October 2nd, 2023. She then followed that up the next week as she improved with a time of 20:17:30. That was in the West Central Athletic Conference Meet at ACGC High School on October 11th. Koch will look to build off her momentum in her display in the state qualifying meet tonight at state.

The gun will go off for the girls at 2 PM today from Fort Dodge. The boys race will follow at 2:40. I will provide results as soon as I can after the meet is over on K 107.9 and online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
