Don and Jean Van Gilder as E.B. and Minnie Wilson
A reminder that tomorrow will be a special Halloween-themed program with the Greene County Historical Society.
The “Happy Haunting” program will highlight famous deceased people and their connections to Greene County. Historical Society members Don and Jean Van Gilder will portray E.B. and Minnie Wilson, who donated the Abraham Lincoln statue in 1918 and were a lawyer and a high school principal, respectively.
Historical Society Executive Director Roger Aegerter will assume the role of General Nathanel Greene, who was then General George Washington’s trusted friend in the Revolutionary War and who was the county’s namesake when Greene County was first established in 1851.
Finally, Jefferson resident Nicole Friess Schilling will portray a Broadway singer and dancer from Grand Junction in the 1920s and 30s with Eva Leonard. She died mysteriously in New York City in 1947.
The free program takes place at 2pm on Sunday at the Greene County Historical Museum in Jefferson.
