The public is invited to a free concert tonight at a new location in Jefferson.
Chad and Alyssa Elliott recently opened the Elliott Art Studio that is located just south of the Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County. The building is a working studio for Chad to create his artwork, but it is also an area for live music. Chad will be joined by Kathyn Severin Fox as the Weary Ramblers. Chad explains the duo started during the pandemic performing together and he talks about how the name came to be.
“We were trying to come up with a folk name. Some people try to make it a little more opened to other genres, we’re like, ‘Nah, we need it to be a folky kind of thing. So I just thought it sounded kind of folky and it was a song by Asleep at the Wheel, a band that has a song called, ‘Weary Ramblers’ and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, that sounds good.’”
Chad will be playing the guitar and harmonica and Fox will be playing the fiddle, while both will be singing. The concert is tonight at 7pm and it is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and drinks and snacks to share.
