We are wrapping up National High School Activities Week and Greene County High School in no exception towards offering several ways for students to get involved.
Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright says whether its a sport, including bowling for the first time this year; a club such as the book club that started last year, or the knowledge bowl team that competed earlier this month at a state contest, there’s lots of options for students to have an interest and thus keep them engaged in school.
“Obviously education is about building well-rounded students, that’s our goal. We don’t want to pigeon-hole or try to do those sort of things. So giving kids opportunities and having them be well-rounded and opportunities to do that and experience different things. I think that’s part of our role as educators and as an educational system. So it’s definitely a good thing for kids to be able to do that.”
Wright encourages high school students that would like to get involved in something that interests them to seek out their friends or talk with him about the wide range of activities the high school has.
