Over the weekend, the Panorama Panthers sent three runners to the state cross country meet, and their preparation and well-thought-out race strategies paid off . Despite not having their full team present, these individual athletes displayed strong results.

In the lead-up to the state meet, the Panorama Panthers emphasized the importance of rest, hydration, and a solid race plan. For them, one crucial aspect of their strategy was “to find the kids I know from ACGC and follow them”, as all runners said when asked. This tactic allowed them to establish a comfortable pace and find their groove on the course.

Among the Panthers’ athletes, Kylie Rochholz and Laicey Lutz put on a solid performance, finishing 9th and 52nd, out of 158 runners. Their success can be credited to the trust they placed in their coaching staff and the strategies they had discussed. By sticking to their game plan, these young runners achieved results that showcased their dedication and hard work.

Noah Poldberg, lone male Panther runner, had a similar strategy of sticking with familiar faces during the race. This approach also paid off, as he secured the 32nd overall position. His success underscored the effectiveness of a well-thought-out strategy.

Panorama may not have had their complete team present at the state meet, but their individual athletes, including first-year runners, showcased impressive performances. By creating and staying to their strategies, the Panther runners not only delivered a strong showing but also achieved personal records (PRs) they can take pride in.
