The quarterfinal round of Iowa high school football playoffs are this Friday night, and turnovers often times play a key role in who wins the game. Greene County didn’t make the playoffs this season, even though Coach Caden Duncan’s team had a positive turnover ratio. The Rams were 3-5 overall and 1-4 in Class 2A District 8.

Greene County started 3-1, then lost its last four games. Turnovers were certainly a factor in determining wins and losses for the Rams as they had a plus eight turnover margin in the first four games, but had a minus three margin in the last four games.

For the season the Rams intercepted nine passes and recovered opponent fumbles 10 times. Senior Jack Hansen had three interceptions with two each from senior Gavin Scheuermann and junior Broc Stream. Nine different Rams recovered fumbles with Noah Cornell at two leading the team.
