Unemployment rates for September see declines across the Raccoon Valley Radio area.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Greene County saw a 0.4 percent drop in unemployment from August to September to 2.2 percent. Dallas and Guthrie counties each decreased their respective unemployment rates by 0.3 percent from August to September to 2.3 percent for Dallas County and 2.7 percent for Guthrie County. All three counties have higher unemployment now compared to September of 2022. Greene and Dallas counties were at 1.8 percent and Guthrie County was at 2.4.

The statewide unemployment rate saw a slight increase from August to September from 2.9 percent to three percent and the national unemployment rate for September was 3.8 percent.
