The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office has charged an individual after recovering 46 horses from an alleged neglect incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, 78-year-old Linda Kilbourne of Johnston was charged with livestock neglect. On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at 33034 165th Street in rural Dallas County where law enforcement found 46 horses that were in need of veterinary care. The horses were seized and are with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) where they will remain pending court action.
