A restaurant in Perry suffered damage after a vehicle went through the storefront.

Perry Police Sergeant Alex Lott tells Raccoon Valley Radio at 6:24pm Friday a white Honda SUV was pulling out of the parking lot at Subway and Lott witnessed the brake light flash but then saw the vehicle accelerate and crash into the front of Subway. Lott says the driver mistook the brake as the accelerator before hitting the storefront.

Lott notes that the front of Subway had an estimated $20,000 in damages and will be closed at least for two days. The SUV sustained $1,000 in damages and no one was hurt in the incident. Lott adds because the situation was accidental in nature, no charges will be filed.
