
The US Drought Monitor’s recent report was released Thursday.
Greene and Guthrie Counties remain mostly in moderate drought conditions, while northern Greene County and southern Guthrie County are in severe drought. Dallas County is mostly seeing severe drought conditions, with the northwest corner facing a moderate drought.
According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center received 1.72 inches of rain in October, and usually sees 2.81 inches. Jefferson recorded 1.49 inches of precipitation but usually sees 2.58 inches last month, while Perry measured 1.19 inches and usually receives 2.70 inches of rain in October.
