Two individuals from the Raccoon Valley Radio area recently received scholarships from a foundation to continue to attend Central College.

Isaiah Fredrichsen from Perry and Luis Velazco from Scranton were two of 13 recipients of scholarships from the Noel Cover Foundation of Cozad, Nebraska. The organization gave $50,000 in scholarships and loan funds to needy, deserving and promising young men who live in Iowa, Colorado, Wyoming, or Nebraska and attend one of four colleges, including the only one in Iowa at Central College. 

Recipients of this scholarship must be studying in one of several different fields including science, scientific research, mechanical engineering and craftsmanship, medicine research of social science. Fredrichsen is part of the 2027 Class with a biology major. Velazco is in the Class of 2025 as a computer science major.
