November has just gotten started, but the Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has already held some events.

Extension Office Assistant Katrina Schulteis says that the Extension started off the month with their Awards Day and ice cream social. She adds that they will also be holding this month’s Youth Council meeting on November 12th. Schulteis tells Raccoon Valley Radio a few other events that are happening in the next couple of weeks.

“We also have (Speak Out For Agriculture) SOFA planning that is coming up on the 19th, and that is located at the Extension Office, and that will be held from 1-4pm. Registration for 4-H and Clover Kids is still open. The discount did end in October, but we still have the registration open, so don’t miss out on that. If you want to participate in the County Fair events and projects, as well as club activities, you do need to be enrolled. So go ahead and make sure that you do that. That is done on 4-HOnline.”

Schulteis mentions that the office will be closed from November 22nd to 24th in observance of Thanksgiving, and reminds 4-H ‘ers who participate in cattle events that beef weigh-ins are coming up in December.
