With Veterans Day fallin on Saturday, some of the towns, organizations and schools in Guthrie County are celebrating beforehand.

The City of Panora will have no special closures, while Guthrie Center and Stuart will both be closed on Friday. Stuart Municipal Utilities will also be closed Friday, though garbage services will not be affected. The Stuart Public Library and Mary J Barnett Memorial Library will also be closed Friday in observance of the holiday.

Panorama schools will have a program for Veterans Day on Monday, November 13th, while Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center and West Central Valley will have their programs tomorrow. AC/GC Schools will serve a free breakfast to veterans at the high school from 8-8:30am, then hold a parade starting and ending at the high school, with Guthrie Center Elementary as a waypoint. West Central Valley will hold programs by the elementary, middle and high schools. Elementary students will perform at 9am at the high school gymnasium, while the middle school performs at 10:30am at the middle school in Redfield, and the high schoolers will perform at the high school at 2:30pm.
