The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library still has plenty to do in the last part of November.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins reminds children that this Friday is the last Friday Story Hour for the month, with a Thanksgiving theme and cotton ball painted turkey craft. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there is another craft for children on the way though.
“We are also doing a kids Christmas Card making (class), where the kids can come in and just make their Christmas cards, say, for their parents or their grandparents. And that’s on November 27th, which here in Guthrie (Center) is a no school day, and that’s going to be from 1(pm) to 2(pm). So if you need something for those kids to do after all the Thanksgiving get togethers, come to the library from 1(pm) to 2(pm) and they can make Christmas cards for family members.”
Hawkins adds that there is also an adult Christmas Card Making Class on November 30th from 6:30-8pm, with a $5 fee for materials. She mentions that they are also preparing for the 2023 Festival of Trees, and that those interested in a tree need to register by Monday. A bath bomb painting workshop will also be available on November 28th from 5:30-6:30pm.
