Bowling for Greene County High School students as an official school sport has arrived! The new sport for the Rams debuts today at Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson when the girls and boys host Clarke (Osceola) at 4 p.m. John Woodford of Spare Time Lanes is the coach of both teams and he had 20 boys and six girls report for practice two weeks ago.

Woodford told Raccoon Valley Radio although there is more bowling experience on the boys’ team because some of the top bowlers have come up through the Junior League at Spare Time Lanes, he is very happy to have girls out for the sport. He’s looking forward to teaching the sport to newcomers while helping the more experienced bowlers refine their skills.
