A local utility company in Greene County recently received a grant to expand its infrastructure.

The Department of Management Division of Information Technology announced $148,960,000 were awarded through the Empower Rural Iowa Broadband Grant and Jefferson Telecom was a recipient for $2,254,717. This round of grant funds is to incentivize broadband infrastructure to be established in the Broadband Intervention Zone. 

Jefferson Telecom was one of 39 broadband providers in 47 Iowa counties that received the Notice of Intent to Award application.
