The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team moved to class 1A last year, and had a successful season.

The team started things off with an 80-50 victory against Collins-Maxwell, then beat Woodward-Granger 74-62, before facing their first loss, dropping a game 70-53 against Van Meter. The team then went on a 4 game win streak, beating Ogden 60-44, Woodward Academy 79-45, Panorama 53-49 and West Central Valley 70-39 all before Christmas break.

After returning from the break, the Chargers lost three in a row, dropping games 78-63 against Des Moines Christian, 51-49 against Madrid and 69-57 against Exira – Elkhorn Kimballton. A three game road win streak was next, as the team took down Woodward-Granger 64-55, Earlham 66-46 and CAM 63-46. They then hosted Ogden and fell 59-53, then went on another three game win streak, defeating Panorama 84-73, Interstate 35 72-36 and West Central Valley 73-44.

AC/GC lost the next game against Coon Rapids-Bayard 64-59, then picked up a win against Pleasantville 67-53, and lost two in a row, dropping games to Madrid 79-64 and Underwood 81-75. Then the postseason started, and the Chargers won the first round against Ar-We-Va 80-51, then won the second round 78-64 against IKM-Manning, and took a 67-42 victory against Coon rapids-Bayard in the semifinals for Class 1A District 7, and fell in the district championship against Grand View Christian 106-47.
