Greene County and surrounding residents can check out a holiday religious favorite while also supporting worthy causes.

The annual Live Nativity event takes place on Sunday from 12:30-2pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Paton. The event includes one Live Nativity showing at 1:30pm, along with chili and cinnamon rolls served from 12:30-2pm. Additionally, there will also be kids crafts during the entire time.

Co-organizer Avis Keasey tells Raccoon Valley Radio they narrowed down the Live Nativity showing from two times to just one time because they thought there were more people at their first showing than their second one. She explains the meal is a free will donation or an unwrapped toy. Keasey points out the monetary proceeds will go to the Paton-Churdan School District Rocket Packs, while the unwrapped toys will be given to the Beauty Amidst the Ashes Toy Drive. She adds that last year, there was a truck full of toys and $300 was donated.
