The National Weather Service in Des Moines is getting ready for winter to start.
According to the NWS, today is the start of the meteorological winter, and that will last until February. They say that for the next few days, there will be above normal temperatures, with precipitation being near normal. The NWS in Des Moines will also be hosting a webinar from 2-2:30pm Tuesday going over outlooks for upcoming weather, and discuss drought, stong El Nino conditions predicted for this winter, and how past winters with strong El Nino patterns have played out.
News sources, public works departments, rural water associations and other similar organizations are invited to register for the webinar. Once individuals have registered at the link, they’ll receive an email with confirmation, and information about joining the webinar.
