An activity that used to be a stand alone event is now combined with the Winter Festival in Jefferson.

Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County is having their “Tag A Tree” event alongside the Winter Festival this year. TJ Gardens Board President Danielle Ross tells Raccoon Valley Radio they wanted to pair up with Jefferson Matters so that people only had one location to go to and avoid going out in the cold too many times.

Ross says anyone 18 and younger can write down a wish, along with their name and a phone number and tag their wish onto their tree inside the Jefferson Elks Lodge. Then tomorrow, they will draw three of those wishes and those individuals will each win $25 in Chamber Bucks. Ross adds about 20-30 people usually participate every year. The “Tag A Tree” happens today from 10am-4pm at the Jefferson Elks Lodge.
