Perry dropped a pair of games last week after their season opening win last Monday. Ogden defeated Perry 62-50 while Nevada won a shootout Friday, spoiling Perry’s home opener 81-74.
Perry got out to a slow start against Ogden and couldn’t recovering falling behind 21-9 at the end of the first quarter. Turnovers proved to be the difference in the game with Perry committing a season high 26 turnovers on the night. Geren Kenney led Perry with 18 points and 8 rebounds while Drake Levan added 12 points and 5 assists. Zander Mahler grabbed a team high 9 rebounds. Carson Van Sickle scored a game high 22 points for Ogden.
Perry played a much crisper game offensively Friday night against Nevada but couldn’t keep up with the high scoring Cubs falling 81-74. The game was tied at halftime at 36 but Nevada came out and started the second half on a 10-2 run and never gave up the lead. The Cubs shot a scorching 51% from the floor and 37% from 3-point land hitting 11-29 3-point field goals. John Nelson led the way with 19 points. Drake Levan was solid for Perry finishing with a game high 23 points including 9-9 from the free throw line. Zander Mahler finished with 18 points and Owen Myers added 15. Perry closed the night 21-26 from the foul line.
Perry falls to 1-2 on the season.
