With the ever-changing landscape of agriculture it can be difficult to get started in the industry as a young farmer.
The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) realizes that tackling challenges like financing, profitability, regulations and family schedules can be a huge task for young farmers. Farmer members aged 18-35 are invited to register for IFBF’s Young Farmer Conference, which will take place February 2nd and 3rd at Altoona’s Prairie Meadows Events and Conference Center.
The conference will include ag industry tours and a keynote presentation from Elaine Froese titled “Discussing the Undiscussable,” which tackles tough conversations that can help improve family relationships. Educational sessions will be available on the second day with topics such as farm transition, national policy updates, and more. Three Grow Your Future Award Finalists will also be able to pitch their ideas to an audience of 500 for a chance to win $7,500.
At the end of the conference, attendees will hear from Tim Gabrielson who performs a show which is a combination of magic and comedy, then participate in a networking event hosted by the Farm4Profit Podcast crew. Registration is for Farm Bureau members only, and ends on January 19th, so contact your local county Farm Bureau by then to get your spot.
