Greene County visited Jewel on Tuesday night in a girl/boy basketball doubleheader vs. South Hamilton on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The SH girls are senior dominated and they like to play an up tempo game with defensive pressure.The formula worked as they improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. Ashlyn Erickson had 16 points and Makena Galetich 14 for the winning team. The Rams, now 0-5, 0-2, were led in scoring by Emma Shipley with 11 points and Makenna Ebersole with nine.

Greene County’s boys are 0-4 on the season and 0-2 in league play while the Hawks are the opposite at 4-0. 2-0. The of the SH wins have been by six points or less while this was the first game the Rams have played that was decided by single digits. Greene County trailed 19-18 after on quarter and 37-27 at halftime. The deficit was as much as 13 points early in the fourth quarter. Greene County had eight three-point goals with six by Brynley Ruzicka, who led all scorers with 20 points. Gabe Ebersole had 19 points and Nathan Behne 10 for the Rams. Reece Ricke scored 19 for the Hawks.
