
Paton-Churdan’s girls and boys basketball teams played at home in Churdan on Tuesday night vs. Ar-We-Va (Westside) in Rolling Valley Activities Conference play. The games were the first at home this season for P-C and AWV won the girls’ game 47-17 and AWV won the boys’ contest 64-44.
The P-C girls were led in scoring by freshman Kaliyah Minnihan with nine points, followed by freshman Ella Tasler with six. P-C led 9-5 after one quarter, but scored just eight points the rest of the game. The win was the first of the season for AWV while P-C fell to 0-3.
Trevon Keely had 11 points and Caden Stream nine for the P-C boys. The visiting Rockets were up 36-8 at halftime. Blayne Smith had 16 points for AWV. P-C fell to 0-3 on the season.
