The second gun season for whitetail deer begins today.

Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Jeremy King reminds hunters to wear their blaze orange vests, and adds that a hat doesn’t hurt either, though the hat isn’t required. He also reminds those that are hunting in groups that using communication devices to relay the position of animals or hunters while they are hunting is illegal, as it gives an unfair advantage to the hunters. King also says that if there are youth hunters that have unfilled tags from the youth season, they can fill them during this season, as long as they follow the regulations and rules for the current season.
