The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday in regular session.
The Board approved the professional services agreement with the Farnsworth Group for design work to be done on the criminal court building as presented, a third amendment to the janitorial contract with Nationwide Office Care for a four percent increase in rates starting January 1st, and re-appointing David Wetsch to the County Board of Adjustment. Following two public hearings, the Board approved the second reading of an ordinance to re-codify the code of ordinances, and the third reading was waived for final adoption. The other item after the second public hearing that was approved was a final plat for the Torgerson Estates Plat 1, to split one parcel into two.
The Board also heard about a proposed 28E agreement with the County Secondary Roads Department and the city of Dawson. County Engineer Al Miller says there is going to be a road project that will be done next year that goes through the city of Dawson. The original amount that they would be responsible for was $546,286 of the overall $4.8 million project. However Miller proposed to remove 1,500 feet from the project to make it more affordable for the city, even after a Small Communities grant with the city’s match for a total of $360,000. Miller thought they would have the city reimburse the county’s farm-to-market funds over a 10 year period. The Board agreed to move forward with the proposal to the Dawson City Council.
