The high school bowling teams at Greene County travel to B-Roll Bowling in Ankeny this afternoon to face the Ankeny Hawks. Greene County’s boys are 3-0 with wins over Clarke (Osceola), Ballard (Huxley), and Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines), while the girls are 0-3 against those same teams. Ankeny is looking for their first wins of the season.

On paper, the Rams have the advantage on the boys’ side with four bowlers each topping the 400 mark in at least one two-game series. Leading the way is senior Carter Fecher at 463, followed by junior Lane Fields 415, freshman Chase Fecher 404, and freshman Trystan Cummings 403.

Coach John Woodford has seen steady improvement from the Greene County girls, who began the season with little in the way of bowling experience. The boys have several bowlers that have been in Woodford’s Junior League at Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson for a period of years.
