
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board met Monday in regular session.
The Board elected Tim Canney to continue as president and Bart Banwart as vice president. The Board then approved re-appointment of Eric Brown as the board secretary/treasurer/school business official, re-appointed Jamaica Reed as the homeless coordinator, and Brown was also re-appointed as the equity/Affirmative Action coordinator.
Additionally, the Board approved the depositories as presented, naming the official newspapers for publication as presented, and approved board members Nikki West and Heith Hockenberry to serve on the contract negotiations team. They also held a public hearing and then approved the 2024-25 school year calendar, two School Budget Review Committee requests for modified supplemental assistance for increasing enrollment for $264,171, and modified supplemental assistance for English Language Learners beyond five years for $11,223.
The Board also approved an addendum for FRK Architects for the new high school building project and a memorandum of understanding with Family Connections to provide a space for them to conduct mental health appointments on a referral basis with parents. Finally, following a discussion, it was determined that the voluntary early retirement incentive will not be offered this school year.
