
The AC/GC Chargers hosted their cross county rival the Panorama Panthers Friday night, and played in some close games.
The girls started things off hot, leading the number 3 team in Class 2A 20-10 at the end of the first, but a quick bout of scoring by the Panthers closed the gap, and the Chargers were only up 26-24 going into halftime. The Panthers lead the way in scoring in the third, leaving the Chargers trailing 40-33 going into the final eight minutes, and AC/GC was held to 3 points in the fourth quarter, ending the game in a 54-36 loss.
The boys kept things a bit closer, trailing 14-10 at the end of the first, but with some hot scoring by Noah Kading and Jathan South, the team took the lead going into the break with a score of 32-30. The Chargers kept the lead under a continuous onslaught of scoring by Kading, and finished the fourth quarter up 46-43. Some last minute scoring by the Panthers put them in the lead, and the Chargers fell 63-59. Kading ended the night with just under half the team’s points, putting up 29 in the second loss on the season for AC/GC.
