An Adel man was arrested following an alleged incident involving a vehicle crashing into a home.

According to court documents, Adel Police responded at 11:20pm Monday evening to a 2012 Dodge Journey that had crashed into a home in the 300 block of South 10th Street. The alleged driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Daniel Grogan had left the incident on foot. Two occupants of the home suffered serious injuries and were taken to a Des Moines hospital. The vehicle was registered to Grogan and a witness gave officers the description of the driver and it matched Grogan, which Dallas County Deputies had found Grogan on South 4th Street and Tiger Drive in Adel.

Court documents show that Grogan admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day and took lorazepam, then operated the vehicle. Grogan failed a field sobriety test that was administered by the deputies. Grogan was then arrested and charged with two Class D Felonies for knowingly leaving a scene of an accident resulting in serious injury, two Class D Felonies for serious injury by vehicle, a serious misdemeanor for his first offense for an OWI, and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for failure to provide proof of liability, leaving the scene of an accident-property damage only, and failure to maintain control.

Grogan was booked into the Dallas County Jail, where he is held under a $20,000 bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
