Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) was a girls and boys basketball winner over the Greene County teams in Jefferson on Saturday afternoon. The girls’ final was 63-21 and the Knights completed the sweep with an 87-49 victory in the boys’ game.

Greene County is 0-9 in girls’ basketball and 0-8 in boys. Freshman Sara Morlan scored a career best eight points for the girls from Greene County with five points by Kaycee Pittman, and four apiece for Emma Shipley and Makenna Ebersole. Senior Brynley Ruzicka led the Greene County boys in scoring at 14 points with a career high 10 for sophomore Nathan Towers and nine points from junior Isaac Carman.

The last chance for first victories this season for the Rams is on Tuesday night when a trip to Des Moines to face the Des Moines teams is on the schedule. Both varsity games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 5:45 p.m. The girls play at 6 o’clock with the boys to follow.
