Freshman Jaron Jacobs and junior Brent Dennhardt won individual titles for Greene County on Saturday at the Carroll Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Jacobs, in his first varsity tournament final, won 4-1 in the title match at 106 lbs. over Brayden Tranmer of Abraham Lincoln of Council Bluffs to improve to 14-5. Dennhardt is 18-1 after topping Carroll’s Chase Ragaller 8-2 in the 165 lbs. finals match.

Three other Rams placed second at Carroll with runner-up finishes for seniors Zeke Binkley (144) and Jackson Turner (150), as well as junior Marcus Ball (215). Freshman Brennan Jacobs was fourth at 113, junior Crew Conner fifth at 138, freshman Degan Miller fourth at 175, and freshmen Roman Sebourn at 132 and Nehemiah Hoyt at 157, both completed without placing in the top six. The Rams were without regulars Gavyn Winters, Jacob Harmeyer, and Gavin Schuermann due to injury concern.

The Rams were fourth in the team race at 133.5 points. Carroll won the team title with 211 points, followed by Council Bluff AL. at 180, and  Westwood (Sloan) 178.5, A total of 11 teams competed. Greene County has completed the December portion of the schedule.
