
A third suspect involved in a series of alleged vehicle thefts in Scranton was recently arrested.
According to court documents, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on September 5th. Three individuals are accused of stealing a vehicle from Scranton, which was later found in Carroll, as well as breaking into another vehicle in Scranton and stealing $120 in cash. The three people fled in a rental vehicle from Texas and were later found in Missouri where they were allegedly involved in another burglary.
Thirty-six-year-old Jonathan Jones of Houston, Texas was arrested on November 29th and charged with a Class D Felony for second degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree burglary of a motor vehicle and a simple misdemeanor for fifth degree theft. He was booked and remains in the Greene County Jail under a $7,000 cash or surety bond. The two other suspects, 23-year-old Najee Harrell from Indiana was arrested on October 5th and 22-year-old Christian Long also of Texas was arrested on October 11th. They both face the same charges as Jones.
