
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple traffic-related crashes that resulted in injuries this past weekend.
The first incident happened at 4:18pm Friday afternoon when deputies, along with the Jefferson Police and Fire Departments, and Greene County Ambulance went to a single vehicle rollover in the 1500 block of 235th Street. According to the Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Ryan West was heading west in a 2018 Honda Civic when due to mechanical issues, West lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch, hit a driveway and rolled the Honda Civic. Three passengers were taken to Greene County Medical Center and the vehicle was a total loss.
The next crash was another rollover on Saturday at 4:46pm on W Avenue near 260th Street. A deputy, Greene County Ambulance, and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue responded after 43-year-old Nicholas Collogan of Grand Junction lost control of a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer as it rolled into a field. Collogen was taken to Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries.
The final incident was a head-on collision at 7:40pm on Saturday night on N Avenue and 140th Street. Emiline Kruif of Michigan was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu and traveling south on N Avenue and stopped at a stop sign. When she pulled out from the stop sign, she hit head-on with a northbound 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche on N Avenue, driven by Logan Butler of Churdan. The Malibu had $9,000 of damage and the Avalanche had $8,000 of damage. Butler was taken to Greene County Medical Center with suspected minor injuries and Kruif was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way. A deputy, along with Churdan and Jefferson Fire Departments and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene.
