The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The Board heard additional 2025 fiscal year funding requests from Greene County Public Health for $300,000, the Greene County Libraries Association asked for an eight percent increase in the base amount and $1,000 per county library for a total of $84,425, along with $10,000 for cooperative programming. RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program requested $3,000, Greene County Fair asked for $24,000, Region XII Council of Governments requested $23,419 total allocation for local, transit and housing trust fund; and Greene County Development Corporation asked for $50,000. The Board took no action on the funding requests.
Then the Board held a discussion with GCDC on the proposed 28E agreement. The Board and GCDC agreed to have language in the agreement that GCDC is not required to spend the funds allocated by the Board by the end of the fiscal year. The Board also approved a letter asking that GCDC re-allocate $10,000 that was given to them for a housing project in Scranton to be given to the Highway 25 Corridor Housing Initiative. GCDC responded that they would agree to do that.
The Board also approved a resolution for the assessed/taxable value of utilities for the 2023 valuation year as presented, the intent to enter a guaranteed maximum price contract for a construction manager at-risk for the county jail project. A representative with the engineering firm ISG said the notice of intent would be published. Then a request for qualifications from the interested construction managers would be taken and then a request for proposals would follow. The time frame given for that process would be through March 25th.
