Calendar year 2023 has seen a number of athletes from Greene County High School move on college to continue sports careers, but Monday was a first. Senior Kolby Angell signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for Bass Fishing with the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL. He’s the son of Shawn and Jeri Angell and is the first known Greene County student to commit to a collegiate Bass Fishing program.

Angell told Raccoon Valley Radio his family got him involved in the sport, and he likes the fight Bass have in them. He added the majority of college tournaments are in the Southern states, but on occasion tournaments are held up North, especially in Michigan and Minnesota.

Angell will play soccer for the Rams this Spring before heading to Alabama to Bass fish for the Falcons.
