The West Central Valley Middle School recently made a donation to local food pantries.
School Resource Officer Katie Guisinger says that after great success with the food drive last year at the Dexter Elementary building, she decided to expand the food drive to the Redfield Middle School this year. She adds that students brought food items from home to their advisory classes, and the advisory class for each grade with the most food items won a pizza party.
Guisinger adds that while contests are fun, they also focused on the true purpose of the food pantry drive, which is to do something good and help others out. She says that to hold up her end of the contest, she is taking pizza to the winning classes for their lunch hours today.
