Funeral Mass for Michael Murphy, 31, of Van Meter will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1026 North 8th St., Winterset, Iowa. Michael John Murphy was born on January 23, 1992, at Allentown, Pennsylvania to James Edward and Mary Kathryn (Keel) Murphy III. He graduated from Winterset High School with the class of 2010. He worked at Chipotle, Noodles and Company, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. He enjoyed sports and online gaming.
Left to cherish Michael’s memory are his parents, James III and Mary Murphy, siblings, Jillian (Brandon) Nuziale, and Jay (Stacey Konkle) Murphy, grandmother, Marguerite Murphy, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
