As we celebrate the Christmas season, the city of Jefferson wants residents of what can be recycled from certain items.

Items that can be recycled include paper gift bags and tags, cards and envelopes, all cardboard, food and beverage glass containers, plastics #1, 2 and 5, among others. Items that can’t be recycled and should be with the regular trash includes plastic toys, ornaments, Christmas lights, artificial trees, shipping plastic, glittery bags, wrapping paper, bows, tissue paper, among others.

Additionally, the 2024 recycling calendar for Jefferson residents are available at City Hall, the Jefferson Public Library and the Greene County Community Center for free.
