Thursday, December 21st

4:26am: Chris Edwards requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 500 Block of North Oak Street. The officer witnessed her in the residence, but she would not come to the door.

6:00am: Brandi Hicks reported a Burglary had occurred at 206 South Oak Street. Two computers and clothing had been taken from the residence. The officer is investigating.

2:31pm: Roger Chesler advised an officer he had witnessed two teenage boys take mail out of his neighbors mailbox and walk off. The officer is investigating the report.

6:45pm: Officers assisted the Sheriff’s Office with an “Order to Take into Custody” at 706 South Locust Street. The order was to take the subject to ER for an Evaluation.

8:29pm: Susan Ikerd reported three opossums on her porch at 601 South Oak Street. The officer arrived and did not locate any in the area.

Friday, December 22nd

8:02am: Kendrick Duong requested assistance in locating his brother in Jefferson. He later spoke to his brother and no longer needed assistance.

11:22am: Congregate Meals requested a Welfare Check on a female at 409 South Locust Street. The officer learned the subject was hospitalized in Ames.

11:44am: The Greene County High School reported a student in possession of vaping products. The officer cited Haley Kokenge of Jefferson for, “Minor Using Vape Products.”

2:30pm: Tony Ores reported a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading east towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

3:18pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West Washington Street resulted in James Stauble of Panora being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

6:04pm: Carrie Block advised she found an injured dog between Bayard and Coon Rapids. PAWS had advised her they can not take the animal. The officer provided her some other options. The animal went to a facility in Des Moines.

7:42pm: Devin Burgart reported a Speeding Vehicle on 220th Street, heading west towards Jefferson. The officer located the vehicle and performed a Traffic Stop, near Grimmell Road. The subject advised a family member was involved in an accident near Slater and was transported to a DSM Hospital. He was attempting to get there quickly. The officer warned him of his unsafe driving and advised him to slow down and get there safely.

9:34pm: An officer assisted a deputy with an OWI Traffic Stop on 220 th , near R Ave.

10:45pm: A Traffic Stop near 220th and Oakland resulted in Saul Villanueva of TX. being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

Saturday, December 23rd

1:35am: An officer spoke to two subjects located in Kelso Park. He advised them the park was closed and they went on their way.

2:08am: An officer located an Open Door at 207 West State Street. The officer secured the business after checking inside.

2:43am: An officer located a broken window in a business door at 701 North Elm Street. The property owner was contacted.

8:09am: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block on North Elm Street resulted in Kirk Geisler of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

8:54am: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Kellanie Johnston of Coon Rapids being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

9:10am: A Traffic Stop in the 1700 Block of North Grimmell Road resulted in Otto Hurley of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

9:27am: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Ashley Wells of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

9:48am: A Traffic Stop in the 300 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Elizabeth Winkleman of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

10:40am: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Maralie Ruth of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

12:19pm: Dispatch advised of an Open 911 Call from 401 West Harrison Street. The officer checked and found the occupants were fine.

2:11pm: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of South Elm Street resulted in Raquel Strennen of Jefferson being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

4:35pm: A Traffic Stop near 220th and Mulberry Streets resulted in Ross Urquhart of Ames being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

6:05pm: The Wild Rose Casino reported a male subject was on the gaming floor and had previously signed a Self-Exclusion Form. The officer issued a Summons to Appear to Mathew Hoff of Des Moines for, “Trespassing – Simple.”

8:22pm: A caller advised of a neighbor burning items in the back yard at 509 South Olive Street. The officer arrived and found the subject was burning fence items, scrap lumber, and other non-yard waste items. Timothy Williams was cited for, “Open Burning Restrictions.”

10:36pm: Amanda Krieger reported a possible Intoxicated Driver on 220th Street. The officer located the vehicle and performed a Traffic Stop near 220th and Elm Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Osvaldo Ruiz Huaracha, 28 of Perry for, “OWI 2nd Offense – Aggravated and No Valid DL.”

Sunday, December 24th

1:22am: Tabitha Chuol reported that her son’s juvenile friend was asking for a place to stay, as he had been kicked out of his residence. The officer spoke to the juvenile’s father and learned it was not true. The son was at a friend’s house.

5:12am: Heather Ketchum requested an officer at 705 West Harrison Street, as she believed someone was attempting to break into the residence. The officer did not locate anyone in the area and no damage was located to the residence.

6:29am: The officer was called back to 705 West Harrison Street, for the same complaint as the previous entry. The officer did not locate anything suspicious.

9:00am: A Traffic Stop in the 100 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Ashley Spaulding of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

11:45am: A Traffic Stop in the 400 Block of West Washington Street resulted in Anthony Tasler of Ankeny being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

11:57am: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West State Street resulted in Travis Davis of Jefferson being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

12:26pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West Washington Street resulted in Brady Stauffer of Jefferson being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

12:44pm: A Traffic Stop in the 300 Block of West Madison Street resulted in Jocelyn Velazco of Scranton being cited for, “Dark Windows.”

8:53pm: The GCMC requested a Welfare Check on an employee, who had not shown up for work. The officer found the female was fine, but had overslept.

Monday, December 25th

2:19pm: Suzie Mathers reported her adult daughter had been assaulted in Guthrie County by a male subject, believed to be coming to Jefferson. The officers did not locate the subject.

Tuesday, December 26th

2:14pm: Angela Milakovich reported her elderly father had given his banking information to a scam caller. There had been two small unauthorized charges to his account. The financial institution had taken care of the issues.

11:34pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. The business was found to be secure.
