A fun program for young children and families has been opened for registration at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library.

Library Director Jerri Hawkins says the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program is available for all families with children between the ages of newborn and five years old, and is a great way to help promote reading and learning skills early on. She adds that the program is free of charge, and that with a large selection of age appropriate books, there’s endless possibilities on what might be found at storytime.
