The high school wrestling season for the Greene County Rams resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 2 when Coach Kirk Davis’ Rams go to Greenfield for a quadrangular vs. the host Nodaway Valley Wolverines, Lenox, and Martsensdale-St. Mary’s. The Rams are 6-5 in dual meets while NV is 10-1, M-SM is 2-3, and Lenox is 1-3.

The Rams are a combined 129-72 for a .641 winning percentage. None of the four teams have been able to fill all 14 weight classes consistently, and the Rams have been open in as few as two weight classes and as many as five weights. Injuries have been a big part of the forfeits for Greene County. The status of junior Jacob Harmeyer at 126 lbs. is unknown at this writing after he missed the final two weeks of December competitions due to injury. Junior Gavyn Winters at 120 and senior Gavin Scheuermann at 157 lbs. both returned to practice earlier this week and the coaching staff expects them to be in the Jan. 2 lineup after missing time due to injuries leading up to the break for the holidays.

Following the Jan. 2 action in Greenfield, the Rams go to Atlantic on Jan. 6 for a 20-team tournament hosted by the Trojans.
