Beef weigh-ins are important for any 4-H and FFA members looking to participate in county fairs or the State Fair.

Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Program Director Meghan McBride says that the beef weigh-in for Guthrie County will be on January 6th, 2024. She adds that the weigh-ins are important because they are a requirement, meaning that no one can show beef cattle unless they have them weighed. For those individuals who may not be able to make it to the weigh-in, McBride explains that they should give the Extension a call, and they will try to find a county that’s close by that still has their weigh-in scheduled to happen, and they will get it set up for them to attend that one.
