WIth the major hunting seasons in Iowa having passed, there are still some seasons open for those looking to collect some meat or a little extra money.

Currently, the only deer season that is open is the nonresident holiday season which lasts until January 2nd, 2024, but population management and excess tag January antlerless seasons will be from January 11th-21st. Many small game animals are still in season, including rooster pheasant, bobwhite quail, ruffed grouse, cottontail rabbit and squirrel. Other small game animals like groundhogs, pigeons and even coyotes are in a continuous open season, so they are always available to hunt, and crow season will begin January 14th and last until March 31st, 2024. There is also a late archery season for turkeys currently ongoing, that will end January 10th. For furbearer hunting and trapping seasons, visit the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website.
